COMMUNITY

Our Nieghbors and Friends

Vaksana is located in Region 2, of the 10 administrative regions in Guyana, and is also known as the Pomeroon-Supernaam Region, or Essequibo Coast. What makes this place feel like home are the communities that we call our neighbours. The region is made up of many villages along a main road which hugs the Atlantic coast. Vaksana is connected by land to  Queenstown Village, one of the oldest villages on the coast. By water, we are connected to Capoey lake, and Capoey Mission near by. We feel right at home immersed in the laid back Essiquibian culture, on our little piece of paradise by the lake.

Visiting the Property

At present, Vaksana has taken root in Essequibo. What began as an idea is now a lived space — one shaped by ongoing care, construction, and community involvement. We are actively preparing the land, building with intention, and creating a place that feels welcoming, grounded, and open.

Phase one is unfolding through a series of interconnected projects, each bringing us closer to a space that can be shared. We invite you to explore what’s taking shape and to follow along as Vaksana continues to grow.

THINGS
TO SEE

Off The Beaten Path

Here in Essequibo, we find ourselves immersed in beauty from all directions. Our site opens up to Capoey Lake, on which we can enjoy a number of water activities and beachy resorts. Our neighboring village of Queenstown hugs the Atlantic, with a gorgeous stretch of coastline. Rice fields extend as far as the eye can see, and hidden gems lay to be discovered along the main road which leads to the adventurous Pomeroon River.
